(T&G News Service):  It is very difficult to prevent someone from gagging you when you are bound to a chair...something Ms. Woods learned the hard way when she was force-fed the large, soft knot of the scarf. Miss Darling easily secured the gag.  Then she proceeded to bind Ms. Woods' legs.

Forcing a straw past Ms. Woods' gag, she began to force the helpless woman to drink.
